Gala Event Benefits to Empower and Support Women Facing Cancer
Warrington, PA, February 23, 2024 – The first annual Bessie Mathew Foundation Gala was held Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 5PM - 10PM at the The Warrington, 1360 Almshouse Rd, Warrington, PA. The Bessie Mathew Foundation provides women and their families help, hope, and healing on their cancer journey. Various services and tools include financial, educational, health and life resources, care packages, counseling coordination, and tuition assistance.
Who is Bessie Mathew? “Just like love cannot be properly described in words, words cannot describe Bessie. You’d have to experience her. When she loves, she loves unconditionally. When she gives, she gives abundantly. When she cries, she cries prayerfully. SHE IS JUST THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUL. Her priorities in life are to be a good Christian, a good wife, a good mother, a good sister, a good aunt, a good daughter and a good friend. The time she puts in to meeting each of these roles is just unbelievable. Even in the midst of her own troubles and problems, she finds time and energy to make others happy” She is so beautifully described on the BMF website.
“It was a beautiful event, filled with such love and energy,” said Dr. Priya Mathew of MVP Family Dental “ I am so happy that funds raised will help provide assistance to women and their families while they are dealing with the unimaginable stress of cancer and what comes along with the treatment.” Dr. Mathew is a dentist and owner of MVP Family Dental in Jenkintown Pennsylvania. She and and her family knew Bessie Mathew through their Indian-American community. Dr. Priya Mathew is honored to be included in the event. “Bessie’s legacy is continuing on stong through this foundation that her husband Jiji so lovingly initiated in her honor..” she went on to say.
The event had an active dance floor with a live cover band featuring The Ridge Riders. Along with food and drinks, there was a raffle that included a Joel Embeid signed 76ers Jersey and tickets local sporting events. Not to mention lots of catching up with old and new friends.
Funds raised from the event will help provide care packages, education assistance, and counseling assistance for women and their families.
